At Age Concern Auckland , we are committed to promoting wellbeing, rights, respect and dignity for older people. Our vision is that older people thrive in an inclusive society for all ages.
We provide FREE needs assessment and service coordination (NASC) in the greater Auckland region–from Mercer to Wellsford. We will find out if you are eligible to receive Ministry of Health disability supports and services and make sure your disability needs are met throughout your life.
Changing Places New Zealand (Changing Places NZ) was formed in 2017 to provide fully accessible bathroom facilities in public places throughout New Zealand. Changing Places NZ is based on the Changing Places Consortium which built over 1000 fully accessible public bathrooms in the United Kingdom since 2006. Changing Places has also spread to Australia, which now has dozens of fully accessible public bathrooms across the country.
Today Carers NZ is a national not for profit supporting a network of approximately 490,000 individual carers and supporting organisations. We do not charge a membership fee and fundraise to share our support resources freely with family carers.
The Cookie Project
According to Stats NZ, 1 in 4 Kiwis have a disability and their employment rate is only 22% compared those who are non-disabled at 70%. That’s over 250,000 capable Kiwis desperately looking for employment!
The Cookie Project is a social enterprise that employs Kiwis with disabilities to make delicious cookies.
Disability Connect is a Disability Information Advisory Service. We are based in Penrose and operate throughout Auckland – north to Warkworth and south to Pukekohe.

New Zealand Spinal Trust
We Help Kiwis With Spinal Cord Injuries Find A Bright New Future.
We offer three key services from the Burwood Spinal Unit in Christchurch, and the Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit in Otara.
These are free of charge whether you are a new patient in hospital or many years post injury and living in the community.
They’re designed to help you live an independent, confident, and productive life even with the spinal cord injury or impairment you now face.
Parkinson’s New Zealand provides education, information, and professional support for all people with Parkinson’s, including their caregivers, friends, and families.
